4Warn Weather – The clouds are giving up their grip over Southeast Michigan this evening, but that will also contribute to a cool night ahead.

It will be partly cloudy to mostly clear tonight as temperatures fall down into the 40s in most areas. Lows will dip to 50 degrees in Detroit and down to the mid-40s in Ann Arbor, Howell, Flint, Pontiac, Macomb Township, and neighboring communities. Communities north of I-69 will have temperatures as low as the lower 40s. Winds will be out of the north at 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday

After a cool start to Tuesday, temperatures return closer to normal in Metro Detroit. Temperatures will rise into the mid-70s in most places, but highs will be in the lower 70s over the Thumb. Skies will be mostly sunny across Southeast Michigan as a high-pressure system drifts over the area and limits cloud development. Winds will be light and variable, a change from the breezy conditions of the past weekend and Monday.

Tuesday night, clouds will develop, and skies will become mostly cloudy. Overnight lows will be milder, with temperatures settling in the upper 50s in Warren, Detroit, Downriver, and Monroe. Lows will be in the mid-50s in Ann Arbor, Brighton, Troy, and Lapeer.

Wednesday

Wednesday will be partly cloudy and warmer. Highs will push into the mid-80s. Plan for the chance of a spotty shower in the morning and a stray shower at night. Lows will be in the lower to mid-60s.

Thursday

Thursday will be even warmer, with highs in the mid to upper 80s. It will be partly cloudy throughout the day, but a few evening showers and thunderstorms are possible with the approach of another cold front. Nighttime temperatures will only fall to the mid-60s.

Friday

Plan on partly cloudy skies as temperatures reach the lower to mid-80s on Friday. At night, it will be mostly clear. Lows will be in the mid to upper 50s.

Father’s Day Weekend

Skies will be partly cloudy to mostly sunny, with afternoon temperatures in the lower 80s on Saturday and mid to upper 80s on Sunday.

Next Monday

On Monday, it will be sunny and very hot. Temperatures will surge into the lower to mid-90s across the region. The record high for Metro Detroit is 99 degrees (from 1994).
