Sunshine, breezy winds continue for Metro Detroit; Historic Hurricane Melissa makes landfall in Jamaica

Wednesday highs in upper 50s; Thursday highs in lower 50s

Wednesday: Mostly sunny skies through early afternoon, more clouds moving in late afternoon and into the evening. High: 56.

Wednesday Night: Skies becoming mostly cloudy, rain showers possible after midnight. Low: 41.

Thursday: Cloudy skies, a chance of rain showers. High: 51.

After lots of sunshine and breezy winds throughout the day on Tuesday, we are going to keep the dry weather in the forecast for most of Wednesday.

Mainly clear skies are expected overnight tonight and Wednesday morning, and it will be another chilly night.

Overnight low temperatures will drop into the lower 40s in the metro, and some upper 30s are possible outside of the metro.

While we start the day with lots of sunshine on Wednesday, I expect more cloud cover to roll into the region late Wednesday afternoon and into Wednesday evening, in advance of our next round of rain.

High temperatures will remain in the 50s on Wednesday.

Clouds will increase late Wednesday night, and rain showers will move into the forecast late Wednesday night and into early Thursday morning.

As you head out the door early on Thursday morning, you will need the umbrella and the rain jacket.

Expect rain showers to stick around on and off throughout the day on Thursday, and into the end of the week for Halloween on Friday.

With clouds and rain showers forecast for Thursday and Friday, temperatures will remain below average. We’re only expecting high temperatures to head into the lower 50s both Thursday and Friday afternoon.

We will dry things out. Looking ahead to the start of the weekend on Saturday, a mixture of sunshine and clouds can be expected.

Before another chance of rain moves in by the end of the weekend on Sunday.

The chance of rain will continue until early next week, on Monday, before dry weather returns and temperatures start to warm up.

High temperatures warming out of the 50s on Monday, end of the low 60s by next Tuesday.
