4Warn Weather – SUNDAY: Mostly sunny skies. Some cloud cover is expected in our Northeastern communities, with an isolated shower or snowflake with the colder air. High: 45.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Mainly clear skies and cold. Low: 29.

MONDAY: Mostly sunny skies. High: 44.

MONDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies. Colder temperatures. Low: 28.

TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy skies. A chance of rain and snow showers. High: 40.

After a very unseasonably warm day on Saturday with high temperatures into the mid-60s, we will bring some much colder changes into the region, looking ahead into the end of the weekend and start of next week as well.

With high pressure building in, I’m expecting lots of sunshine for the majority of the region. The one exception to this will be in our northeastern tier of communities, where we may hang onto a little cloud cover and the chance for an isolated shower or snowflake, thanks to a northwesterly flow bringing in that colder air. High temperatures are only heading into the mid-40s by Sunday afternoon.

We will keep the sunshine in the forecast to start next week on Monday, and the colder temperatures will be sticking around. High temperatures remaining in the low mid-40s.

Expect more cloud cover to move into the region as we go from Tuesday through Wednesday, thanks to a low-pressure center working south of Metro Detroit. The latest data has shifted that system a little more to the north, so we will bring in a chance of rain and snow showers into the forecast by the time we get to Tuesday.

That chance of rain and snow showers will stick around into the late evening hours on Tuesday before winding down overnight into early Wednesday morning. Mostly cloudy skies will stick around as we look ahead into the day on Wednesday. High temperatures into the upper 30s and lower 40s on Tuesday will warm into the mid-40s by the time we get to Wednesday afternoon.

Rain chances return to the forecast by the time we get to Thursday and into the end of next week on Friday. The bulk of the moisture will move in throughout the day on Friday, but especially into the evening hours on Friday for the tree lighting ceremony in Downtown Detroit. This could be a healthy dose of rainfall by the end of the week, on Friday. High temperatures into the lower 50s on Thursday will warm into the mid-50s on Friday.

We will keep the chance of an isolated rain shower in the forecast for the start of next weekend on Saturday. Colder air will move in behind this system as well. Expect high temperatures into the mid to upper 40s by Saturday afternoon.
