Sunshine and clouds stick around Metro Detroit Wednesday before temps get warmer

Above average temperatures sticking around the forecast for most of the next week

WEDNESDAY: Partly cloudy skies. Increasing clouds in the afternoon and evening. High: 44.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy to overcast skies. Low: 33.

THURSDAY: Cloudy skies. Warmer temperatures. High: 50.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Cloudy skies. Low: 39.

FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy skies. Continued mild temperatures. High: 53.


After a little bit of a wintry mix as we worked throughout our Tuesday, drier weather works in for the middle of the week, and stick sticks around into the end of the week as well.

Expect a mixture of sunshine and clouds to start the day on Wednesday, thanks to high pressure building into the region. High temperatures are running about 5 to 10° warmer as we head throughout the day on Wednesday. High temperatures heading into the mid-40s by Wednesday afternoon.

Expect an increase in cloud cover as we head through the afternoon and into the evening hours on Wednesday, and that sticks around all the way through the end of the week. Skies will go mostly cloudy by Wednesday night. Overnight lows dropping to near the freezing Mark by early Thursday morning.

Cloud cover sticks around as we work through the entire day on Thursday, thanks to an area of low pressure that will work south of the region through the end of the week. High temperature is getting even warmer, into the upper 40s and lower 50s by Thursday afternoon.

Mostly cloudy skies will stick around through the end of the week on Friday, before we start to break up the cloud cover and see a little sunshine looking ahead into the weekend. Temperatures getting even warmer by the time we get to the end of the week. High temperature is heading into the low to mid-50s by the time we get to Friday.

A cold front will roll through the region Friday afternoon and into Friday evening, and that will drop temperatures a little bit heading into the start of the weekend. But in return, it will also start to clear out some of that cloud cover that’s sticking around the rest of the week as well. High temperature is dropping back into the mid 40s by Saturday, before warming into the 50s by the end of the weekend and end of the start of next week.

Expect a mixture of sunshine and clouds to stick around Sunday and into the start of next week on Monday. Our next chance of rain doesn’t move into the region until we get to Tuesday of next week. But by then, above-average temperatures are still in our forecast. High temperatures heading for right around 50° by the time we get to next Tuesday.
