Winter weather and colder temperatures return to Metro Detroit for the weekend

After record-setting temperatures and gusty winds for the end of the week, we are going to keep the breezy winds in the forecast for part of the weekend, but also bring back the chances for winter weather as well.

We’re going to watch an area of low pressure and an upper-level disturbance roll through the region as we work throughout our Saturday. Expect rain and snow showers to move into the region late Saturday morning and stick around through the afternoon and into the early evening hours, before changing over to snow showers late Saturday night. High temperatures warming into the upper 30s by Saturday afternoon, before dropping into the mid 20s overnight Saturday night into early on Sunday morning

With a northwesterly flow kicking in for the end of the weekend on Sunday, we will keep the chance of snow showers in the forecast with high temperatures warming into the low to mid 30s by Sunday afternoon. Winds will gust as high as 20 to 25 miles an hour, sending our wind chills into the 20s by Sunday afternoon.

Drier weather sticks around to start the week on Monday, expect a mixture of sunshine and clouds throughout the day. High temperatures remain on the cold side of things as we head into the upper 30s by Monday afternoon.

Our next chance of rain moves into the region by the time we get to Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday evening, and then gives way to a chance of rain and snow showers by the middle of the week on Wednesday. High temperature is warming into the lower 40s by Tuesday afternoon, before dropping into the middle 30s by the time we get to Wednesday.

We will dry things out and keep the cloud cover around by the time we get to Thursday, with high temperatures getting colder as we only expect high temperatures to warm into the mid 20s by Thursday afternoon. Then, we bring a chance of snow into the forecast by the end of the week on Friday, with high temperatures heading for the upper 20s to lower 30s by Friday afternoon.
