Metro Detroit is in for another taste of summer today as temperatures climb a few degrees higher than yesterday, reaching the mid-80s by afternoon under a mix of sunshine and increasing clouds. The warmer air mass will remain in place through much of the day, but as a cold front pushes through this afternoon and evening, there will be a low chance for scattered showers and non-severe thunderstorms. Most communities are expected to stay dry, but a few brief downpours or rumbles of thunder cannot be ruled out as the front moves through.
Once the front exits the area tonight, a refreshing stretch of weather ensues for the remainder of the week. Cooler, drier air will settle across the Great Lakes, bringing temperatures back closer to seasonal averages. Highs from Thursday through the weekend are expected to remain comfortably in the 70s, accompanied by lower humidity levels and abundant sunshine. The extended forecast continues to look exceptionally favorable for outdoor activities, including one of Detroit’s biggest sporting events of the year...
