Hot and humid weather continues for Southeast Michigan as storm chances increase into the weekend

Metro Detroit will be sunny and hot before rain chances enter the forecast to finish the week

4Warn Weather – An Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect for all of Southeast Michigan through Thursday evening.

Highs today will be in the mid to upper 90s under mostly sunny skies.

When you factor in the humidity, it will feel closer to at least 105°.

There is the chance for storms further north today, and the Storm Prediction Center has issued a Marginal Risk (level 1/5) for severe weather for areas near I-69 and northward.

We don’t cool off a whole lot tonight with overnight low temperatures only falling into the mid 70s. Keep in mind, our normal high temperature this time of year is 83°.

Thursday across Southeast Michigan will be another day with plenty of sun. Highs will be in the mid to upper 90s before we once again only drop to the mid 70s at night.

Thursday evening and overnight brings the chance for scattered rain and thunderstorms, particularly in the thumb region.

The chance for rain will carry into Friday, when a few isolated strong storms are possible. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Marginal Risk for Severe Weather for almost all of Southeast Michigan Thursday, and for the entire Lower Peninsula Friday.

Rain and thunderstorms look to be scattered with isolated strong storms being a possibility.

Scattered rain chances will linger into the holiday weekend but temperatures start to fall a bit.

Friday’s highs will be closer to 95°. We’ll see more upper 80s Saturday and Sunday afternoons with overnight lows closer to 70°.
