Meet Brendan Downey, a junior at Lake Shore High School. Downey won “Favorite Junior” and “Driving Game” in 4Frenzy’s Spring 2021 Golf category. He started playing golf his freshman year of high school.

“As a team we work on perfecting our chipping and putting, and encourage each other to do their best!” said Downey.

He considered his team family because of how close they all are. Downey thinks very highly of his coach, Chris Mazzola (4Frenzy’s Spring 2021 Best Golf Coach), because he pushes him in both sports and school.

In his spare time, Downey enjoys working on cars and fishing. He is also on his high school’s bowling team and in Boy Scouts, which he is soon to work on his Eagle project.

His advice to anyone wanting to start golfing is to be yourself and that practice makes perfect for any sport.

He is currently dual enrolled in Macomb Community College in order to receive his Associate’s degree one year after graduating from high school. Downey’s goals for the future are to be recruited in either golf or bowling in college where he will study engineering.

Wishing you the best of luck with your future goals, Brendan!
