Target to discontinue popular clothing brands, adding 12 new brands Retailer refreshing clothing section this fall
1962: The first Target discount store opens in Roseville, Minnesota. By the end of 1962, four more stores would open in Minnesota.
DETROIT – Target is redesigning its clothing section.
The retailer announces some changes to brands being offered in clothing sections in both the men's and women's section.
Target will discontinue the Merona and Mossimo clothing lines , while adding some new brands to the mix.
Target's new brands will include:
Goodfellow & Co.: Menswear line, replacing Mossimo
A New Day: the new “modern mix-and-match” women’s clothing line, replacing Merona
Project 62: Modern style furniture and houseware
JoyLab: Fashionable athleisure brand
The additional new brands haven't been revealed yet.

"One new brand on its own isn’t going to change the way guests experience Target, though we definitely believe each of our exclusive brands will leave its mark," said Target VP.
Target says new brands will begin hitting shelves in September.
