Parking prices downtown spike ahead of Detroit Lions’ playoff game

Park in secure, well-lit parking lots

DETROIT – Thousands of people will make their way to Downtown Detroit on Sunday for the Detroit Lions game and parking lot imposters will be looking for people to scam.

Parking prices in some spots are expected to fetch well over $100. Local 4′s Hank Winchester spoke with Keith Hutchings with the city’s parking department.

Fans are expected to be out in droves on game day. There are dozens of parking lots to choose from, and prices are expected to average around $75.

There will also be people out trying to scam drivers by offering parking spots they don’t actually have permission to sell.

When you’re parking make sure to park in secure, well-lit lots and ask to see ID from the parking attendant. Know that street parking is free on Sundays. Your vehicle will be towed if you’re parked illegally.
