Bora Kim

Local 4 Reporter

Bora Kim joined the WDIV Local 4 New Team in 2008. She is thrilled to return to Michigan after starting her broadcast news career up North at the CBS affiliate in Cadillac/Traverse City. While it has been several years since she lived in the snow, she looks forward to taking in the sights and sounds of every season and traveling to as many destinations across this beautiful state.

Bora is a Southern California native and a graduate of Syracuse University. She earned a Broadcast Journalism degree from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication. She also holds an International Relations degree from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs with a geopolitical focus in Asian Affairs. Her studies took her abroad, and to Washington D.C. where she meshed her two passions during an internship at CNN.

Prior to coming to Detroit, Bora served as a News Bureau Chief for the CBS affiliate in Sacramento. She also honed her skills as a General Assignment Reporter/Anchor at WHBQ-FOX 13 in Memphis, Tennessee and KFDX-NBC 3 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

"Detroit is truly a great news town! It's been one big story after the next the moment I arrived. I am honored for opportunity to tell stories. I am blessed when meeting those willing to share their stories." The question Bora is often asked is the meaning of her Korean name. Bora translated means "to look," or as her parents intended, "To Behold and Be Inspired."
