Reward of up to $3.5K offered for info on fatal shooting of 28-year-old man in Detroit

DETROIT – Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $3,500 for information that leads to an arrest in the fatal shooting of a 28-year-old man in Detroit.

Donte Green, 28, was shot and killed around 9:45 p.m. on Nov. 11 in the 7000 block of McGraw Avenue between Tarnow and Proctor streets.

Green spoke on the phone with his sister at 8:30 p.m. and said he was going to the intersection of McGraw and Tarnow, where his friend was doing a video shoot.

While Green was at the intersection, shots were fired at someone inside a parked car outside the Caribbean Club, officials said. Green tried to run to his car, but he was shot.

Green was a graduate of Consortium College Preparatory High School and studied business management at Wayne State University. He taught youth basketball at the Roberto Clemente Recreation Center and various churches.

Green had been scheduled to begin a job at Ford Motor Company on Nov. 14.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest in the case. If the tip that leads to an arrest is received before midnight Thursday, $1,000 will be added to the reward, raising it to $3,500.
