Birmingham Seaholm mom accused of shoving teacher during argument

BIRMINGHAM, Mich. – The mother of a Seaholm High School student accused of shoving a teacher was arraigned on an assault charge Friday.

According to police, Marci Lizabeth Gallison’s daughter reportedly called a math teacher a racial slur while on a bus ride home from a class trip to see the movie "Hidden Figures" on Jan. 19. Gallison, 46, got into an argument with the teacher over the bus incident while picking up her daughter at the school. During the argument, she pushed the teacher, police said.

Gallison was arraigned on a misdemeanor count of assault and battery. She pleaded not guilty and was released on a personal bond. As a condition, she is to stay away from the school and not have contact with the teacher.

Gallison’s next court appearance is Feb. 21.
