Officials said the man lost control of his Mustang, went off the road, struck a guardrail and crashed into two vehicles that were already on the shoulder of the highway because of an earlier crash.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. His identity has not yet been revealed.

Michigan State Police said drivers should remember to slow down when winter weather arrives. Anyone involved in a crash without injuries should find a safe spot to park before calling police, according to authorities.
