Detroit man checks on disturbance, killed by CPL holder, police say

DETROIT – A 49-year-old man was fatally shot Sunday afternoon when he reportedly went to check on a disturbance.

According to authorities, the victim exited a residence located in the 20200 block of Gilchrist Street to intervene in a disturbance that was taking place between a 27-year-old man and a woman.

Police said the victim produced a gun and the 27-year-old man, a Concealed Pistol License holder with his own gun, saw the weapon and fatally shot the victim.

The 27-year-old man was taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing.
