TAYLOR, Mich. – The AmCane Sugar plant in Taylor is closing by mid February 2020.
That’s according to a notice from the state of Michigan’s Workforce Development Agency which says AmCane Sugar, LLC is shutting down its refining operations at the plant located at 21010 Trolley Industrial Drive.
Workers -- 73 total -- will be permanently let go. Positions include everyone from plant manager and lab tech to maintenance and general labor workers.
The plant closing “WARN” notice was received by the state of Michigan on Nov. 12, 2019.
