Detroit gas station surveillance footage shows shooter firing at 26-year-old driver

Victim in temporary serious condition

DETROIT – A 26-year-old man was shot Wednesday morning as he pulled out of a gas station on Detroit’s east side.

The shooting happened at about 1:40 a.m. at a BP gas station in the 11000 block of Gratiot Avenue.

According to police, the victim was in a 2007 Dodge Charger in the parking lot of the BP gas station when numerous shots were fired into the passenger side of the vehicle and through the windshield.

The victim was shot in the face, forehead and right ear. Four spent casings were found at the scene.

The entire shooting was caught on surveillance video.

The victim continued out of the gas station and headed west on Gratiot Avenue. He hit a pole at a Marathon gas station three blocks away, causing minor damage, and was taken to the hospital.

He is listed in temporary serious condition.
