DETROIT – Officials pulled the body of an unidentified man out of the Detroit River on Friday afternoon.

The discovery was made before 1 p.m. Friday (June 11) in the area of East Jefferson Avenue and Chene Street in Detroit’s Rivertown-Warehouse District, according to authorities.

Authorities said the man was possibly in his 40s. He was pulled out of the water by the Detroit Police Department Harbormaster.

Homicide detectives are heading to the scene to investigate.

Medical examiners will work to determine the cause of death.

No additional details have been revealed.
