Person of interest in custody after man found stabbed to death outside Belle Tire in Troy
TROY, Mich. – Police are investigating after a man was found stabbed to death outside a Belle Tire in Troy. Police were called to the parking lot of a Belle Tire at 4966 Rochester Road in Troy at around 7 a.m. on Monday. Employees arriving for work found the man lying next to the front entrance of the building. Police said it is unknown how long he was outside, but his body was found covered in snow. A knife was found in the parking lot but it’s unclear if that is the knife that was used in the stabbing, police said.
Man found dead on shoulder of SB I-275 near Eureka Road
A man has been found dead Tuesday night on the shoulder of Interstate 275 near Eureka Road, police said. A vehicle was found in the area. Police are investigating the circumstance of the man’s death and whether the vehicle is related. The southbound side of I-275 was shut down Tuesday night near Eureka Road. Monroe County investigating after missing man found dead
BEDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police are investigating a man’s death after the body of a missing man was found in Monroe County Saturday afternoon. According to authorities, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Bedford Township after someone had found a body in the woods. DETROIT – Police are investigating after a woman’s body was found in the backseat of a car on Detroit’s east side. Police said the discovery was made at about 6 a.m. Wednesday in a car near the intersection of Hayes Street and East Outer Drive. Harper Woods man suspected of killing woman charged with homicide
HARPER WOODS, Mich. – Steven Mark Bratton was charged Tuesday in connection with the death of a 37-year-old Harper Woods woman. According to authorities, police responded to reports of a woman fatally shot in the back yard of a home in the 19100 block of Woodside Street. Police said the body of a 37-year-old woman was found at the scene and, within an hour, Bratton was taken into custody and a handgun believed to have been used in the crime was recovered. Oakland County officials find decomposed body, 11 animals, insect infestation inside mans home
LEONARD, Mich. Oakland County officials said they found a womans decomposed body and 11 animals inside a home when they removed a man for medical attention due to an insect infestation. Oakland County deputies and Addison Township firefighters were called at 8:25 p.m. Wednesday to a home in the 1800 block of Rochester Road in the village of Leonard, officials said. Her husband was taken from the home to Ascension Providence Hospital of Rochester for medical attention due to insect infestation, officials said. Oakland County Animal Control officers came to the home and removed nine cats, a dog and a bird. The Oakland County Medical Examiners Office took custody of the womans body and scheduled an autopsy.
Police find human skeletal remains in Monroe County drainage ditch
LASALLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. Police discovered human skeletal remains over the weekend in a Monroe County drainage ditch, officials said. The discovery was made around 12:50 p.m. Sunday in an open field on the south side of West Stein Road, west of Strasburg Road, according to the Monroe County Sheriff Dale Malone. Deputies were called to the field when a worker performing maintenance found unknown human skeletal remains, according to authorities. The remains were taken from the drainage ditch and turned over to the Wayne County Medical Examiners Office in Detroit for an autopsy and identification. Man hunting for mushrooms in Macomb County finds remains of missing man
CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. The remains of a 35-year-old Eastpointe man reported missing in 2018 was found Saturday afternoon in Chesterfield Township by a man looking for mushrooms. According to the Chesterfield Township Police Department, it happened at about 4 p.m. in a heavily-wooded and swampy area south of 23 Mile Road, near I-94. Police said bones, heavily weathered clothing and camping equipment were found and that there were no signs of trauma. The man was identified by a Michigan ID card inside a wallet, police said. The investigation is ongoing, but police said there were no signs of criminal activity.

DEARBORN, Mich. – Dearborn police are investigating after a woman was found dead in a bathtub Tuesday. Police said the 29-year-old woman was found in the 24000 block of Dunning Street. STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – A death investigation is underway in Sterling Heights after a neighbor discovered a woman’s body Monday. “I heard sirens earlier but I assumed they passed through. I did not know they were right outside my front door,” one neighbor said. Police have not commented on the woman’s cause of death, but they did say the scene was contained and there was no danger to the public. Police are reviewing surveillance cameras from homes as they try to piece together what happened.
