It was previously reported that an officer was dragged leading to a police chase. Detroit police officials say the officer was not dragged and that a police chase did not occur.
DETROIT – A police officer was reportedly dragged while attempting to make a traffic stop Wednesday on Detroit’s west side.
According to police sources, the driver who dragged the officer took off and was later seen traveling the wrong way on Eight Mile Road before crashing. After our report aired, Second Deputy Chief Rudy Harper said the officer was not dragged and there was no chase.
