Video shows high-speed Royal Oak police chase, crash that killed 18-year-old driver
ROYAL OAK, Mich. – An 18-year-old driver was killed overnight when he fled Royal Oak police at high speeds and crashed violently into a pole, according to officials. They terminated the pursuit at the border of Royal Oak, near 11 Mile and John R roads. Royal Oak officers saw the car, which had no license plate, heading west on 11 Mile Road near Stephenson Highway, according to authorities. Officers called Royal Oak firefighters, who used the jaws of life to free the man from the wreckage. Deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and Royal Oak officials are investigating the crash.

Monroe County hit-and-run, armed robbery suspect arrested after police pursuit into Toledo
TOLEDO – The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a string of crimes after a two-state police pursuit Saturday night. Just after 5 p.m., a Monroe County Sheriff’s deputy in Lambertville, just north of Toledo, was informed by a citizen of a damaged black Impala parked at a Rite Aid Pharmacy located near the intersection of Secor and Sterns roads. Deputies pursued the suspect southbound into Toledo, where they turned the pursuit over to the Toledo Police Department, who took the man into custody. He is currently lodged at the Lucas County Jail, pending extradition to Michigan for face charges of armed robbery, felonious assault and more. Man sentenced to year in jail in connection with Detroit police pursuit with infant in car
DETROIT – A father was sentenced Friday to a year in jail and three years of probation in connection with a police chase with his 4-month-old baby in the car. Brandon Walker, 26, pleaded guilty to child abuse after he took his daughter from his girlfriend in April and took off. Shortly after the chase was called off, the mother was able to get the baby from the vehicle in the area of Seven Mile Road and Oakfield Avenue. STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. A Clinton Township man was charged after leading police on a high-speed chase through Macomb County with a 1-year-old in the car on Tuesday. Jason David Vancoillie, 32, was charged on Thursday with fleeing and eluding police in addition to malicious destruction of personal property. Police initially responded to a domestic dispute at a Panda Express parking lot in Sterling Heights on Tuesday, but Vancoillie and his wife and the small child had already entered their truck and drove away. According to police, officers located the vehicle attempted to make a traffic stop but Vancoillie decided to flee. The chase came to an end in Harrison Township when the man crashed the truck into a fence on North River Road, police said.

Woman arrested after leading police chase over Mackinac Bridge
OTSEGO COUNTY, Mich. A driver was arrested after leading police on a chase over the Mackinac Bridge on Thursday morning. Officials say the driver, a 31-year-old woman from Waterford, initially pulled over but then fled the scene. Stop sticks were successfully deployed and the Volkswagen continued to drive across the Mackinac Bridge on its rims. Police say bridge traffic was halted by the Mackinac Bridge Authority after they were notified of the situation. The woman was then arrested and transported to the Otsego County Jail.

Dearborn police arrest 15-year-old in connection with breaking and entering incidents

The men, both 27 years old, were caught in a home invasion when neighbors called police. They took off in a vehicle and police followed. The suspects ended up crashing the vehicle into a pole on Ryan Road just south of 8 Mile Road. Somehow no one was seriously injured in the rollover crash.
