Woman attacked with hammer, knife, held against her will at Port Huron home, police say

PORT HURON, Mich. – Police are searching for a Port Huron man accused of attacking a woman with a hammer and a knife and holding her against her will until she escaped.

Police were called at 1:57 a.m. Thursday (April 7) to the 1500 block of 11th Street, according to authorities.

Officers said they spoke to a 49-year-old Port Huron woman who told them that Booker T. Brown, 53, of Port Huron, had assaulted her at a home in the 1400 block of 13th Street.

She had been beaten, attacked with a hammer and knife, and held against her will until she escaped, police said.

She was taken to McLaren Port Huron Hospital with serious injuries, authorities said.

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating Brown. He is described as 5 feet, 11 inches tall and 175 pounds.

He is wanted for attempted murder and unlawful imprisonment, according to officials.
