Two 21-year-old men charged after stabbing in Port Huron
PORT HURON, Mich. โ Two 21-year-old men have been charged after an argument over a vehicle led to the stabbing of a 37-year-old man in Port Huron, officials said. Port Huron police said a 37-year-old Burtchville Township man arrived at the Lake Huron Medical Center at 8:11 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 24). He told police that he had gotten into an argument with Devin Michael Convery, 21, of Port Huron, in the 1600 block of Jay Street, according to authorities. Converyโs friend, Joshua Davis Schreibman, 21, from Madison Heights, got involved in the argument and stabbed the 37-year-old man multiple times, police said. He was arrested there by officers from the Madison Heights Police Department and transported to the St. Clair County Intervention Center, officials said.
Port Huron hospital worker charged with setting off explosives that โterrorizedโ staff
DETROIT โ Clyde Township resident Michael Patrick Barna, 59, has been charged in connection with setting off incendiary devices at McLaren Port Huron Hospital. According to police, the incendiary explosive devices went off within trash cans Wednesday, Nov. 4 at around 3:45 p.m. at the hospital. While there were no injuries or damage the explosives โfrightened and terrorizedโ staff members, said the Port Huron Police Department in a press release. Barna was arraigned Sunday on charges of explosive, sending with intent to fright and explosives violation, vulnerable target. Barna has a probable cause conference scheduled to take place at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17.
4 Detroit men arrested, charged in title company scam
PORT HURON, Mich. โ Four Detroit men were arrested in Port Huron after police say they were involved in a fraudulent check scam at a title company. Port Huron police responded to a complaint on Aug. 17 at the Transnation Title Agency on Huron Avenue. Police believe they were also involved in a similar scam at a title company in Fort Gratiot and other locations throughout Michigan. All four men were charged and arraigned Wednesday with conducting a criminal enterprise and conspiracy to commit a criminal enterprise. PORT HURON, Mich. โ A party store and a gas station in Port Huron were caught selling alcohol to underage police decoys during a sting involving 30 businesses, officials said. Port Huron officers conducted the sting Monday, checking 30 businesses for compliance focused on the underage sale of alcohol, according to authorities. Police said underage decoys were sent into retail stores licensed by the Michigan Liquor Control Commission to sell alcohol. Officials found 28 businesses were in compliance by refusing to sell alcohol to the underage decoys. Port Huron police said all licensed businesses should check IDs to prevent minors from buying alcohol.
1 dead, 2 stabbed during alleged โdrug deal gone wrongโ in Port Huron Township, police say
PORT HURON CHARTER TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ Police are investigating what is believed to be a drug deal gone bad in Port Huron Charter Township early Wednesday morning. One person is dead and two others suffered stab wounds during the incident, officials said. The Port Huron Charter Township man provided information regarding the assault to officers and was then transported to the hospital. Port Huron police identified and stopped a vehicle in connection with the incident at about 4:30 a.m., officials said. A 21-year-old Washington Township man was also in the car and suffered from lacerations.
