BEDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an attempted homicide that occurred Tuesday night in Bedford Township. According to authorities, the incident happened at about 10 p.m. at the Bedford Inn Motel on Telegraph Road. Police said the investigation revealed both victims were assaulted at the Bedford Inn Motel the night prior. A search warrant was authored and served by detectives on a motel room at the Bedford Inn Motel, where evidence of an aggravated assault took place. Canton man accused of assaulting wife with saw, slamming 8-year-old on ground
CANTON, Mich. – A Canton man is facing charges after he allegedly assaulted his wife with a saw and slammed an 8-year-old girl on the ground, police said. Oswald John Tallent, 46, is charged with assault with intent to murder, torture, assault with intent to do great bodily harm and 3rd-degree child abuse in connection with the incident. Officers were called to the 7300 block of Stonebrook Drive at about 1:15 p.m. Monday for a domestic assault report. Police said they found a woman in the driveway with lacerations on her face and body. Tallent is accused of using a saw to harm his wife before slamming the 8-year-old girl on the ground and dragging her up the driveway by her hair, police said.
Detroit man faces possible life sentence for attempted murder in Harper Woods, police say
HARPER WOODS, Mich. – A Detroit man is facing the possibility of life in prison for an attempted murder in Harper Woods, police said. Tyren Wesly Williams, 23, of Detroit, got into an argument with another man around 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the 19400 block of Kenosha Street in Harper Woods, according to authorities. During the argument, Williams pulled out a 9 mm handgun and fired a shot at the other man, officials said. Williams fled the scene with the handgun, according to officialsHarper Woods detectives executed a search warrant Monday at a home in Detroit. Williams was arraigned Wednesday in 32-A District Court on one count of assault with intent to murder and a felony firearm violation.
