Ronald Deshawn Yharbrough, 24, of Detroit, is accused of fatally shooting Brendan Shelton, 31, of Inkster, in August.
Officials said they were called at 8:27 a.m. Aug. 29, 2021, to an apartment complex in the 5000 block of Heather Drive in Dearborn.
When they arrived, officers found Shelton on the ground in the back of the building with multiple gunshot injuries, they said. Medical officials took Shelton to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Yharbrough is accused of firing a handgun multiple times, fatally injuring Shelton, according to authorities.
Yharbrough fled the scene, but Dearborn police investigators later took him into custody.
He is charged with second-degree murder and a felony firearm violation.
Yharbrough was arraigned Thursday morning (April 7) and is being held on $500,000 cash bond.
A probable cause conference is scheduled for 1 p.m. April 13, and a preliminary examination is scheduled for 10 a.m. April 22.
