Michael Deshawn Altman-Tucker was sentenced Wednesday, Dec. 6, to 25-50 years for second-degree murder, 5-10 for assault with intent do great bodily harm and two years to run consecutively for felony firearm convictions.

Altman-Tucker was convicted by a jury in October after a nine-day trial.

According to authorities, Altman-Tucker was being removed from Dooley’s Tavern and struggling with employees on Feb. 26, 2022, when he pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots, striking a bouncer several times. A friend of Altman-Tucker was struck by a stray bullet. They suffered minor injuries.

The bouncer -- a 36-year-old Warren man identified as Julius Bing -- died from his injuries.

Dooley’s Tavern closed permanently shortly after the shooting. The decision was made by management and not facilitated by authorities.
