DETROIT – The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office announced Tuesday, Dec. 12, that they have received a warrant request in the Samantha Woll murder case.

It’s a legal step before potentially issuing charges.

Woll, a well-known leader in Detroit’s Jewish community, was found stabbed to death outside her home Oct. 21. First responders arrived at the scene and saw Woll had been stabbed several times. She was declared dead at the scene.

Police believe she was attacked inside her home and that she stumbled outside, where she was found. There were no signs of forced entry the home. She was found with her wallet and phone on her, police confirmed.

Police did make an arrest in November, but that suspect was later released. A person of interest was taken into custody in December, but it’s unknown if it is the same person.
