Free smoke detectors available for residents of Pontiac, Waterford Township, and Lake Angelus

Residents will schedule a time for installation with local fire department

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – The city of Pontiac is working with the Waterford Regional Fire Department to offer free smoke detectors to residents.

The smoke detectors were donated by Kidde Fire Safety and MI Prevention. They are available to Pontiac, Waterford Township, and Lake Angelus residents.

Anyone interested in receiving a free smoke detector can fill out a form online or in person and pick up the free smoke detector at Waterford Fire Department’s Main Headquarters.

Residents will be given a bag with a smoke detector and/or carbon monoxide alarms, a pamphlet about fire safety, and arrange a scheduled time for installation with their local fire department.

Waterford Fire Department’s Main headquarters is located at 2495 Crescent Lake Rd. Waterford, MI 48329. Pontiac, Waterford Township, and Lake Angelus residents who need a new smoke detector can visit the headquarters or fill out the form on the Pontiac website.
