SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – A 19-year-old boy has died after crashing into a fence during a police chase in Southfield.
The incident occurred on Tuesday (Feb. 13) at 7:30 p.m. after officers attempted to stop a stolen Kia at Westhampton Avenue and Evergreen Road.
Police say the vehicle carrying two 17-year-old girls fled and immediately hit a fence.
Officials say rescue personnel transported the 19-year-old boy to a hospital in Metro Detroit, where he was later pronounced dead.
The two girls were transported to a Metro Detroit hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
