Detroit schools adjust schedule for dangerous heat

DETROIT – The first week back after summer break isn’t going quite as planned for one Detroit school district.
Due to high temperatures, the Detroit Public Schools Community District will have early dismissal for part of its first week of the 2024-25 school year.

According to school officials , there will be a three-hour early release on Monday, Aug. 26, and Tuesday, Aug. 27. A decision regarding Wednesday, Aug. 28, will be made Monday night.
Parents are asked to check their emails for updates.
