MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. – A 31-year-old man from Clinton Township will spend the rest of his life behind bars after being convicted of murdering his wife.
Steven Bryce Wheeler was found guilty by a jury in January of first-degree murder and felony firearm.
According to authorities, Wheeler shot his wife in the head five times with a handgun in their Clinton Township home in October 2023.
Police said he got into an argument with her and she called 911 after he assaulted her .
She was shot multiple times while she was on the phone .
Neighbors reported seeing the couple’s young children run from the house after hearing gunshots .
Wheeler was sentenced Wednesday, Feb. 26 to life in prison without parole for first-degree murder and two years for felony firearm.
