Man extradited from California admits to sexually abusing minors in Michigan Plea deal reached in sexual assault cases involving minors

DICKINSON COUNTY, Mich. – A 23-year-old man living in California has pleaded guilty to the sexual assault of a child.
Trentin McWilliams was extradited to Michigan by U.S. Marshals in September to face charges .
According to authorities , McWilliams pled no contest Monday, May 5, to second-degree criminal sexual conduct for sexually assaulting a child at a relative’s home in 2018. Additionally, he pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in 2022.
He initially faced charges that included accosting a child for immoral purposes and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct , but these charges appear to have been dropped in the plea agreement.
McWilliams is scheduled to be sentenced July 7.
