Allen Park zoning board denies Sheetz gas station variance requests Residents who attended the meeting expressed support for the board’s decision
ALLEN PARK, Mich. – The rapid expansion of the Sheetz gas station chain was a hot topic in Allen Park.
The zoning board of appeals denied several zoning variances that Sheetz had requested on Thursday (June 12) night .
Sheetz sought approval for a 36-foot-wide driveway, the ability to store 78,000 gallons of fuel, and to build its gas station just 200 feet away from another gas station.
However, all of those requests went against existing ordinances.
Residents who attended the meeting expressed support for the board’s decision.
