2 taken into custody in Detroit triple shooting that killed child, teen Investigation is ongoing
DETROIT – Police have confirmed two people have been taken into custody in the triple shooting that killed a 4-year-old and an 18-year-old on Detroit’s east side.

The shooting took place Friday, June 27, at Skinner Playfield, near Denby High School in Detroit.
Samir Grubbs and Daviyon Shelmonson-Bey. (WDIV) 4-year-old Samir Grubbs and 18-year-old Daviyon Shelmonson-Bey were both killed in the shooting . A 17-year-old boy who was shot is expected to be OK.
Police confirmed to Local 4 on Wednesday, July 2, that two people have been taken into custody. Further details were not revealed.
On the night of the shooting, Detroit police initially detained two people of interest but later released them. Since then, officers have been working to identify the shooters .
