Man extradited from California sentenced for sexually abusing minors in Michigan Electronic monitoring and registration to follow prison release

DICKINSON COUNTY, Mich. – A 23-year-old man who was living in California has been sentenced for sexually assaulting two minors in Michigan.
Trentin McWilliams was extradited to Michigan by U.S. Marshals in September to face charges .
According to authorities , McWilliams pled no contest in May to second-degree criminal sexual conduct for sexually assaulting a child at a relative’s home in 2018. Additionally, he pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in 2022.
He initially faced charges that included accosting a child for immoral purposes and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct , but these charges appear to have been dropped in the plea agreement.
McWilliams was sentenced Monday, July 7, to 8-15 years in prison, followed by electronic monitoring and sex offender registration.
