Wayne County man killed in crash outside Mount Pleasant

UNION TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 70-year-old man from Woodhaven was killed Saturday in a crash outside Mount Pleasant.

It happened at about 10 a.m. on Pickard Road in Union Township.

According to authorities, the man from Woodhaven turned westbound onto Pickard Street from a hotel parking lot and struck an eastbound vehicle.

The 70-year-old from Wayne County died from his injuries. The driver of the other vehicle -- a 50-year-old man -- was seriously injured and remains hospitalized.

The crash remains under investigation.
