What to know about 5k in Oakland County raising awareness, funds for melanoma prevention

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – A 5k aiming to raise awareness and funds for the prevention of melanoma is happening on Sunday.

The 20th annual KDB Melanoma 5k will be held at Kensington Metropark in Milford on Sunday, Oct. 12. Registration and check-in will open at 9 a.m., and the opening ceremony will be at 11 a.m. The 5k begins at 11:30 a.m.

The organization is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for melanoma prevention in memory of Kathy Bowers, a dear friend to the people running it.

To register or donate, visit here. Registration costs $35 for adults, $15 for kids ages 6 through 12 and free for kids 5 years and younger.
