Crews battle large fire at abandoned church on Detroit’s west side 1 injured in early morning fire
DETROIT – A man was injured in a fire at an abandoned church on Detroit’s west side early Monday morning.
The fire erupted at a vacant church in the area of Grand River and Ohio just before 5 a.m. on Nov. 10.
The Detroit Fire Department said a man was found by firefighters at the scene while searching the building that was connected to the abandoned church.
Fire officials said the man was walked out by crews and was taken to a local hospital after suffering burns and smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
