Ypsilanti man convicted of murder in stabbing outside Big League Brews bar in Taylor Police say large fight broke out in parking lot

TAYLOR, Mich. – A 40-year-old man from Ypsilanti has been convicted of murder in a deadly stabbing outside Big League Brews in Taylor.
It happened Oct. 26, 2024. Police said they were called to the bar and found a large group of people fighting in the back parking lot that leads to the sidewalk near Mayfair Street and Ecorse Road.
The victim, 28-year-old Marcell Pongratz, died from a single stab wound to the chest.
Police identified William David Parker as a suspect and took him into custody.
On Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025, a jury found Parker guilty of second-degree murder . He is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 11.
