A Wayne County convict who allegedly escaped from a hospital following a crash pleaded no contest to one charge.
The crash happened on Sept. 2, 2025, near Inkster Road and Lucerne Street. According to authorities, Antonio Dewayne Hollingsworth failed to yield when leaving a parking lot, hitting a motorcycle on Inkster Road.

The motorcycle driver, 44-year-old Nicholas Cogswell, was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Hollingsworth was taken into custody at the scene.
Police said Hollingsworth was transported to Garden City Hospital at about 11:15 a.m. on Sept 4 after he had complained of chest pain. After receiving treatment, he reportedly escaped from police custody and ran off on foot.
Police described Hollingsworth as a parole absconder convicted of armed robbery and warned residents that he was dangerous.
He was taken back into custody several hours later after a tip from a quick-thinking resident.
Hollingsworth was charged Sept. 8, 2025, with possession of a controlled substance, moving violation causing death, escape from lawful custody and driving while license suspended.
Hollingsworth pleaded no contest to the charge of controlled substance abuse. All other charges were dismissed, according to court documents.
He is expected to be sentenced on Feb. 18.
