Lincoln Park man accused of crashing into state trooper at I-96 rollover scene

DETROIT, – A Lincoln Park man is accused of crashing into a Michigan State Police trooper who was stopped at the scene of a rollover crash on I-96.

The marked patrol car was shutting down lanes of I-96 for a rollover crash when he was struck.

The crash happened May 15 at around 12 a.m. at I-96 to I-96 Express near Wyoming.

The driver of the Acadia then fled the scene of the crash.

Troopers used license plate readers in the area to identify the car.

Troopers were driving to the suspects home when they found the Acadia.

A traffic stop confirmed the identity of the driver.

The 50-year-old Lincoln Park man was arrested for fleeing the scene of a crash and impaired driving.

The trooper was not hurt in the crash.
