Man killed in shooting at Oakland County home, deputies searching for suspect

Crime Stoppers offering $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest

PONTIAC, Mich. – A man was shot and killed while at home in Pontiac Sunday night, and deputies are searching for a suspect.

The shooting happened in the 300 block of Central Avenue, near Woodward Avenue and South Boulevard, on May 24 at around 10 p.m. Deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area for a report of a man who had been shot.

When deputies arrived, they found Brian Keith Washington Jr., 25, in his room with a gunshot wound to the neck and not breathing. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to the sheriff’s office, shell casings were found outside the bedroom window.

Anyone with information about the shooting, or who may have heard or seen something in the area around 10 p.m., is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAKUP. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
