MONROE COUNTY, Mich. – Two people were arrested for their involvement in a violent armed home invasion in Monroe County.
The incident occurred on Tuesday (June 9) at 12:45 a.m., when Monroe County Central Dispatch said it received a 911 call from a resident in the 7700 block of Kirkwood Drive in Frenchtown Township.

Police said the caller reported that two individuals had broken into her home, and before she could barricade herself safely away from them, she was assaulted by one of the intruders.
Officials said one of the suspects was armed with a machete and caused extensive property damage inside the home.
Police said the suspects then fled the scene in a blue SUV.
Officials said they quickly identified the suspects and their vehicle, which was heading toward Taylor.
Police said a “Be on the lookout” alert was immediately broadcast to the Taylor police, who located the vehicle and detained the suspects around 1:24 a.m.
Monroe County deputies said they traveled to Taylor, took custody of the suspects, a 31-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man, and transported them to the Monroe County Jail.
Officials said they believe this was a targeted incident and not a random act of violence.
There is no ongoing threat to the public.
