Authorities seize guns, drugs, $2K in cash during search in Detroit

DETROIT – A Detroit man is facing multiple charges following a drug bust on Thursday.

Detectives from the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office and the Warren Police Department executed search warrants in the 5600 block of John E Hunter and the 3600 block of Vernor Avenue in Detroit on June 11 at around 5:30 a.m.

While officials executed the search warrants, detectives arrested Michael Campbell, 52, of Detroit.

The following items were seized in the search, according to authorities:

  • About 420 grams of cocaine
  • $2,291 in cash
  • One rifle
  • Four pistols
  • Numerous magazines and ammunition
  • Digital scales and packaging materials consistent with narcotics distribution

Campbell was charged with two counts of delivery or manufacture of a controlled substance - 50 to 449 grams, six counts of delivery or manufacture of a controlled substance - less than 50 grams, and two counts of felony firearm.

His bond was set at $400,000. He is required to wear a GPS tether upon release.
