DETROIT – Michigan State Police have confirmed that a 38-year-old woman from Detroit has died following an early morning crash involving a wrong-way driver on southbound I-75 near downtown Detroit.
Police dispatch received calls about a wrong-way driver on the freeway around 4 a.m. Minutes later, police received additional calls about a rollover crash involving two vehicles on I-75 between Grand River Avenue and Rosa Parks Boulevard.

The suspected wrong-way driver was also injured in the crash and taken to a local hospital for treatment. Investigators say they have not yet identified any contributing factors that may have caused the driver to travel the wrong way on I-75.
All lanes of the southbound freeway were closed for several hours while Michigan State Police reconstructed the crash site.
