“We love watching the fire trucks that go out first, and just seeing what they come up with because every year is different,” said a man sitting in lawn chair with his wife.

“We absolutely love the floats, the parade and all the cars,” she added.

This year marking a significant milestone, America’s 250th anniversary.

“It means freedom and a lot of people don’t understand what it truly means. Many gave their lives for it and if my flag should fall may someone else come and run with it,” said a man waving two large flags.

Decked out in red, white and blue, parents say this is a tradition they want to pass on to their kids.

“Oh it’s beautiful! We’ve been coming here catching candy since we were kids, so I’m happy to pass that on to him,” said a young dad holding a toddler.

Lillyana was enjoying her first July 4th parade. “It’s such a joy to watch it through her eyes,” said Lillyana’s Mom. “She’s having a blast waving and collecting candy with her big brother,” she added.

Whether you were watching the parade or in it, July 4th isn’t complete without pomp and pagentry. Decked out in feathers, one performer said “it’s good to see everyone come together and have lots of smiles!” she said while waving to the crowd.
