A Michigan State Police helicopter helped officers arrest a suspect during a stolen-ATV investigation involving the Troy and Detroit police departments.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, when Trooper 2, an MSP helicopter, provided aerial support during the investigation.
Police said the suspect attempted to carjack another vehicle while fleeing from law enforcement.
Officials said the helicopter’s assistance played a key role in tracking the suspect and coordinating the response, ultimately leading to an arrest.
Michigan State Police said that aviation resources provide law enforcement agencies with additional tools to safely locate suspects and support ground operations.
