Family finds Apple AirTag used to track them during Disney World visit
A Tennessee family recently was visiting Disney World, but spending quality time together was interrupted when they realized a device was tracking their every move. Jennifer Gaston told FOX 35 Orlando the family was on the monorail to get back to their car when they received a notification saying someone with an AirTag device was tracking them. “We were terrified, we were confused, hurt, and scared,” Gaston told FOX 35 Orlando. An AirTag is a coin-shaped Apple product typically used to keep track of keys. “This story could have ended way differently,” Gaston told the outlet.

For the second time in school history, the Eagles are headed to the quarterfinals after beating East Grand Rapids 52-47. The Eagles led 16-4 after the first quarter, and while the Pioneers came charging back, Hudsonville never did relinquish its lead. The Pioneers and Eagles were scheduled to clash in last year’s regional final. This is our second regional championship in school history.”The Pioneers fought back in the second quarter, trimming the deficit to 24-18 at halftime.

Fabinski’s family traveled to Disney World in August and checked out all the parks during their stay: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom as well as Disney Springs. There is no parade, no fireworks and limited character breakfasts but Fabinski says Disney World is still delivering on the magic families expect.
Disney to lay off 28,000 at its parks in California, Florida
ORLANDO, Fla. – Squeezed by limits on attendance at its theme parks and other restrictions due to the pandemic, The Walt Disney Co. said Tuesday it planned to lay off 28,000 workers in its parks division in California and Florida. Two-thirds of the planned layoffs involve part-time workers but they ranged from salaried employees to hourly workers, Disney officials said. The Florida parks reopened this summer, but the California parks have yet to reopen as the company awaits guidance from the state of California. Disney officials didn't offer a breakdown of the layoffs between the Florida and California operations. Walt Disney World in Florida has around 77,000 employees, while the Disneyland Resort in California has more than 30,000 workers.

Universal Orlando seeks to reopen theme parks in early June
ORLANDO, Fla. Universal Orlando is aiming to reopen its theme parks in early June, a resort official said Thursday, more than two months after the company joined crosstown rivals Disney World and SeaWorld in closing their gates to stop the spread of the new coronavirus. Universal Orlando executive John Sprouls asked Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings for approval to open the companys theme parks as early as June 5, the Orlando Sentinel reported. Universal, Disney World and SeaWorld have been closed since mid-March in an effort to stop the virus's spread. Officials with Disney World havent said when they plan to reopen. Many of those same protocols will be implemented at the theme parks.

The Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force suggested a two-phase plan for allowing visitors back into theme parks that includes recommendations and mandates. Theme park staff will be required to wear face masks and regularly wipe down surfaces and railings throughout the park. The Florida task force that devised this plan is made up of 44 people, including Disney, Universal and SeaWorld executives and members of the local business community.
