DETROIT – A 32-year-old Detroit man has been charged in connection with the alleged theft of 14 catalytic converters from shuttle buses used to transport residents of a senior assisted living facility to medical appointments and other activities.
Prosecutor Kym Worthy said Delmar Jijuan-Raffile Williams was charged in the case.
The alleged theft occurred July 26, 2026, around 6:30 a.m. at a senior assisted living facility in the 250 block of McDougall Street in Detroit.
According to prosecutors, Williams removed and stole the catalytic converters from 14 of the facility’s buses before fleeing the scene.
An investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to Williams’ arrest on July 27, prosecutors said.
Williams is charged with one count of larceny of $20,000 or more and 14 counts of larceny from a motor vehicle.
Williams was arraigned after 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, in 36th District Court.
