Dearborn woman billed Medicaid for dental work that never happened at clinic, AG says

A Dearborn woman is facing multiple charges in an alleged Medicaid fraud scheme.

Lina Abraham, 41, was charged with one count of conducting a criminal enterprise and 14 counts of Medicaid fraud.

According to Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, while working as an office manager at a Dearborn dental clinic, Abraham allegedly repeatedly billed Medicaid for dental crowns that were never provided to patients under her employing clinic’s former name, Artistic Dentistry.

The Michigan Attorney General’s Office said it does not suspect others associated with the dental clinic were involved.

Abraham was arraigned in court on Sept. 23 and is expected to return to court on Oct. 2.

The Attorney General’s Health Care Fraud Division is handling the case.
